The Home Free program reunites youth with their family or legal guardian or helps them get to an alternative living arrangement (ALA), such as a community-based transitional living program, through a free bus ticket. Home Free works in collaboration with youth, parents and guardians, law enforcement, anti-trafficking organizations, social service, health care providers, and others to ensure youth who are victims of labor and sex trafficking benefit from reuniting with caring adults or getting an alternative living program.

Eligibility & Restrictions

Youth must be between the ages of 12 and 21 and self-identify as homeless, a runaway, or a victim of human trafficking. Youths must agree to complete the necessary steps to obtain a ticket through the Home Free program.

Granite Wellness Centers (GWC), formerly known as Community Recovery Resources or CoRR, provides comprehensive services to promote wellness for individuals and families with a focus on addressing substance use disorders.

GWC is a source of naloxone, a medication used to rapidly reverse opioid overdose.

Granite Wellness offers residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment services for adults and youth with personalized treatment plans including group and individual counseling and other services.

Granite Wellness also provides transitional housing up to six months for adult men, women, and women with young children for people enrolled in outpatient services. Truckee Tahoe Workforce Housing Agency (TTWHA)'s Home Rental Program provides financial incentives and tenant vetting and placement to homeowners interested in renting their homes to trusted local employees. It works with homeowners who do not qualify for the Town of Truckee or Placer County’s Lease to Locals Programs.

Volunteers of America (VOA) Family Shelter, Home Start Inc. is a non-profit emergency shelter (operating 24/7, 365 days a year) for homeless families in Placer County.

Placer County's Health and Human Services partners with Probation and Law Enforcement to operate the Homeless Liaison Team (HLT), a team of professionals that provides outreach and resources to the homeless population while keeping the community safe.

It's divided by two groups, one serving Mid-Placer and the other serving South Placer, which includes Roseville, Rocklin, and Lincoln.

The Homeless Liaison Team:

• Assists in facilitating coordinated entry screenings with 211, through which people are placed on a By Name List and prioritized for shelter and housing options
• Provides basic needs such as ID vouchers, CalFresh & MediCal, clothing, hygiene items, and food
• Conducts in-field screenings for mental health and substance abuse

AMI Housing has a Homelessness Prevention (HP) rental assistance program for residents within Rocklin and Roseville city limits only. Funding goes by CITY LIMITS not zip codes.

All AMI programs require:

• proof of county residency for 14 days before being eligible for funding
• current income that can support housing costs going forward after any funding assistance from AMIH
