Children's System of Care is one of six Divisions of County of Placer Health & Human Services.

To meet the needs of children and youth who may be at risk, and their families, Placer County has a team that offers comprehensive services. Staff from the following areas are on the team:

  • Substance Abuse Services
Eligibility
Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

CIRBY WELLNESS CENTER

The Cirby Wellness Center offers an array of wellness services all in one place. Activities are facilitated by both peer and professional staff. The activities offered at the Wellness Center are free of cost and designed to foster a sense of community and shared recovery.

The Wellness Center features:

Cornerstone Crisis Residential is a home-like facility that provides short-term residential treatment for adults experiencing a psychiatric crisis in Placer County. 

Short-term residential treatment services include crisis intervention in a supportive, group living environment for adults who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. Treatment is designed for individuals who need an intermediate step between a hospital stay and returning home, or who wish a more structured, supportive setting in order to prevent a psychiatric hospitalization.

Cornerstone is located in Roseville, CA. The program accepts admissions twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week.

Persons experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms are referred to Cornerstone through psychiatrists, case managers, therapists and accepting insurance companies. Admission is voluntary.

BeWellLine provides free non-clinical social, emotional, and crisis support via phone or chat to Californians age 12 and older. Services are also available in Spanish.

In addition to support for adults, BeWellLine counselors are well trained to help middle school, high school, and college students with situations such as family conflicts, homelessness, isolation, problems with friends, bullying, school pressures, suicidal ideation, navigating the online world, academic and financial pressures, or mental health issues.
