Exhibits are optimal for children under age 7 and focus on building cognitive, physical, social, and creative skills through play. Camps and school programs are designed for children through elementary school. Teenagers can volunteer at the museum.

Girls on the Run - Sierras inspires girls to be healthy and confident by using an experience-based curriculum which integrates running.

Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) fun run with healthy living education. Their programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community.
