Placer County Office of Emergency Services (OES), in cooperation with local cities, special districts, and fire and law enforcement agencies, provides emergency management services. During an active incident that requires emergency sheltering, such as a fire or a flood, OES secures resources necessary for first responders to protect the community.

The Ready Placer Dashboard provides almost real-time information during disaters.

NOTE: In the event of evacuations, people must follow instructions from law enforcement on the scene.  After evacuation orders are lifted, even if the dashboard shows roads are open, there may be law enforcement on the scene not allowing people back in because of remaining safety issues of which they are aware.

The South Placer Fire District responds to structure, wildland, vehicle, and other types of fires that occur in the District. Medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, rescue emergencies, public service calls, and hazardous material response (at the first responder level) are part of the services provided. 

Station 18 is located in the heart of Downtown Loomis and is designated the “Eagles Nest” due to its alliance and close relationship with Del Oro High School Eagles. The station's first due area has significantly high-risk hazards including Interstate 80, railroads, wildland-urban interface, and high-pressure underground pipelines. Station 18 is located at ​5840 Horseshoe Bar Road, Loomis CA 95650.

Station 20 is the furthest Station to the north of our District otherwise known as the “Ridgerunners”. The Disability Disaster Access and Resources Program (DDAR) a joint effort with the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers (CFILC) and PG&E to support people with disabilities and older adults before, during, and after a PSPS event.

The program enables qualified customers who use electrical medical devices to access backup portable batteries through a grant, lease-to-own or the FreedomTech low-interest financial loan program.

Transportation resources, lodging and food options are also provided through an online application process to qualified customers. CFILC administers all aspects of the program.
