Rapid Rehousing (ESG CV2)
The Emergency Solutions Grant CV2 program can provide assistance in locating housing, and funds for housing expenses for people who are homeless who qualify. Applicant income must be no more than 50% AMI. AMI is Area Median Income. See info here: https://www.placer.ca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/36060/AMI. Funds may cover:
  • Moving Costs – moving costs, such as truck rental or hiring a moving company, including certain temporary storage fees.
  • Rent Application Fees – application fee that is charged by the owner to all applicants.
  • Security Deposit – equal to no more than 2 months’ rent.
  • Last Month’s Rent – paid to the owner of housing at the time security deposit and first month’s rent are paid.
  • Utility Deposit – standard utility deposit required by the utility company for all customers (i.e. gas, electric, water/sewage).
  • Short and medium term rental assistance as determined necessary by case manager at assessment.

Screening and Applications
Sierra Community House will screen households to assist each community member who may qualify. If households qualify, Sierra Community House will go through the application process with them so that the household may receive assistance with their rental payments.

Project ReStart is a cooperative community effort to reduce and prevent homelessness, provide professional mental health services, and to assist families and individuals become self-sufficient. ReStart’s Mental Health Support Center offers clinical and non-clinical services for eligible individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have a mental illness. Permanent Supportive Housing is provided as a component to ReStart’s Mental Health Support Center Program. ReStart also provides crisis intervention and stabilization services for Washoe County residents who are in a family, people with a long-term disability, seniors over 60 and individuals with HIV/AIDS and others who are at risk of becoming homeless.
