The Gathering Inn Mid Placer is a 100 bed emergency housing and services program located at the DeWitt Campus in Auburn, CA.

The Gathering Inn is staffed 24/7 and employs 4 full-time Case Managers who are responsible for coming along side guests to identify, and work through barriers to housing by discussing how to increase income, providing a connection to education, and securing sustainable housing. Case Managers then provide follow-up support for up to 1 year in an effort to reduce homelessness.

Mid Placer provides:

The Gathering Inn South Placer is a family emergency shelter in Placer County. It is a nomadic shelter by nature and all guests are hosted by a different house of worship every night that provides shelter and a hot meal.

The shelter offers a chance for individuals and families it serves to build better lives and sustainable futures in the community.

On their campus, The Gathering Inn offers:

The Sierra Roots Weather Shelter in Nevada City is a program that is activated during extreme hot or cold weather events for one of the most vulnerable populations, the chronically homeless people in our community. Each time a weather event triggers the need to open, enough volunteers are needed also. NOTE: Sierra Roots does not provide motel vouchers.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the Sierra Roots warming shelter will be open on weather-triggered nights for up to 15 guests.

Blossom Place provides safe housing, one-on-one support and resources so former foster and at-risk young women ages 18-24 can learn the life skills, achieve the goals and gain the confidence to blossom into who they are meant to be.

Blossom Place believes one's basic needs of housing, food, clothing and safety need to be met before you can move on to accomplish other goals. The Independence Plan is a step-by-step plan that moves a young woman through basic needs and into goals and dreams. With a mentor, a counselor and a Blossom partner who acts case manager alongside her, she will work through education, career, health, transportation and relationship goals. She'll learn time management, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, stress management and parenting skills.
