What is a Representative Payee (Rep. Payee)?
An individual or organization that the Social Security Administration (SSA) appoints to receive and manage the RSDI (Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance), SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance), or SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits of another person, also referred to as a beneficiary. A rep. payee must use the benefits they receive for the use and benefit, and in the best interest of, the beneficiary.

Crisis counseling
Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking can obtain crisis counseling at any time, day or night, either by calling the Stand Up Placer 24-hour Helpline at 1-800-575-5352, using our chat feature, or by coming into one of our service offices during business hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A trained advocate will assess the survivors’ situations, help them with a safety plan, and go over various options with them.

The Women of Worth Safe House provides an emergency shelter and transitional housing assisting women and families in crisis, victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. This is a Ready to Grow (R2G) resource. Ready to Grow is a First 5 Nevada County program to connect children 0-5 with services and information that support their well-being. Organizations with programs that have this R2G tag may have additional programs of interest to families.

Provides flight assistance via commercial airlines for a child and his/her parents/legal guardians, or an adult patient, to retrieve and attend service dog training as required by the service dog organization.

Provides services to people who are blind or visually impaired including peer and professional counseling, escorted transportation to medical and agency functions, educational classes, and skills training.

Offers clients social opportunities to meet other people who have visual impairments, help in obtaining needed resources and equipment, assistance with blindness related legal or insurance issues, instruction on how to download digital books from the National Library Service.
