Services
The Behavioral Health Department provides a wide variety of Adult Mental Health Services to the public, particularly for Medi-Cal recipients and those with severe mental illness. These include Mental Health Services and Alcohol and Other Drug Services. County employees provide some services, while contracted individuals and organizations provide other services, with County monitoring.

Service Range
This continuum of care ranges from acute inpatient to routine outpatient services, and includes medication services, psychotherapy, residential services, wellness and recovery, care management, long term institutional care and vocational services. Adult Services monitors the delivery of services to ensure that State standards are met for quality, timeliness and authorization.

Auburn Renewal Center (ARC) is a free medical clinic located on the grounds of the Auburn Seventh-day Adventist church. Auburn Renewal Center offers basic medical services to the under-insured, uninsured, and unsheltered residents of the greater Auburn area. Clinic is primarily for people 18 years old, low income, uninsured, under-insured, unsheltered. Children over 8 can be seen on a case by case basis.

Services are every Tuesday 9am-1pm, and Thursdays by appointment.

Western Sierra Medical Clinic offers counseling treatment for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, stress, chronic illness, attention deficit disorder, substance abuse, weight management, and family issues.

Provides workshops for chronic disease self management, weight loss support, grief counseling, and nutrition in schools.

Chapa-De Indian Health offers complete Pediatric care including:

• Primary medical care

Children's Mental Health Services

Self-referred individuals or families will either have an appointment scheduled with the Managed Care Unit, Sierra Mental Wellness Group, a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Placer County Network, or they will be linked to another appropriate community or agency provider depending on needs and insurance coverage.

Children's Behavioral Health
Nevada County Behavioral Health Children's Mental Health serves children and youth who have Nevada County Medi-Cal and meet moderate to severe criteria for Behavioral Health Treatment: recent psychiatric hospitalization, Probation or Child Welfare involvement, significant challenges at school, homelessness, or a complex combination of concerns that may involve trauma, depression or anxiety symptoms, and housing instability.

Treatment location is based on need and can take place at the Nevada County Behavioral Health Office, schools, Family Resource Centers, or other locations convenient for the family. Insight Counseling Group assists those who need help with challenging life transitions and/or traumatic events. Counseling is available for adults, teens, and children (six years of age and above). Also available are therapy options for groups, couples, and families. All counseling is trauma-informed.
