Children's System of Care offers comprehensive services for children and youth who may be at risk in Placer County.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Placer Children's mental health services includes full scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries, and County Medical Services Program (CMSP) beneficiaries with low or no share of cost. Those who do not meet these eligibility criteria are assessed on an individual basis regarding their need for services.

The Nevada County Public Health Department in Truckee provides free and confidential Teen Clinics including reproductive health services for teens in the Truckee area.

Services include:

• Birth control education and supplies
• Pregnancy testing and emergency contraception
• STD testing, referrals, and HPV/Hepatitis A & B vaccinations
• Mental health counseling and support
• Abstinence education and decision-making support
• Referrals to other local services and teen-friendly providers

• Primary medical care

Chapa-De Indian Health provides dental care for children and adults at health centers in Auburn and Grass Valley.

Services include:

• Exams, x-rays, and oral hygiene education
• Cleanings, fluoride treatments, and fillings
• Crowns, bridges, dentures, and limited root canals
• Limited oral surgery services
• Referrals to outside dental specialists if additional care is needed

In the event that one requires services not available their healthcare centers, Chapa-De Indian Health will help coordinate care with a specialist. Chapa-De can refer to any specialist in the region if they accept your health insurance plan and if they are accepting new patients.
