Pawnie's Home Care provides home care services for seniors and people with disabilities. They put together a plan to fit each client and their specific needs. Most of their care services are listed below but there may be some that aren’t listed that could be implemented depending on the needs of their clients. Recology Auburn Placer provides residential and commercial yard waste, recycling, and garbage collection to the communities of Auburn, Colfax, Rocklin, the Town of Loomis, and Unincorporated Placer County. The City of Roseville has its own waste services division. The City of Lincoln is served by Waste Management, Inc.

Sharps

All sharps waste must be transported to a collection center in an approved sharps container. Home-generated sharps waste includes hypodermic needles, syringes, and lancets that are used for medical purposes. Sharps in approved biohazard containers can be brought to the Recology Auburn Placer Transfer Station for safe disposal.

Seniors First offers Meals on Wheels and Senior Cafes.

Meals on Wheels

A service designed to help Older Adults Age in Place by targeting people who are home alone during the day and who have difficulty preparing simple meals. For clients who need the service temporarily.

Eligibility

At the time services are provided, clients shall be:

• 62 years of age or older, sufficiently functionally impaired and homebound; or,
• The spouse, of any age, of an eligible client; or,
• A person with a disability (of any age) who lives with an eligible client.

Senior Cafés

The Senior Cafés program provides a hot, healthy lunch five days a week to seniors age 60 at over eight Senior Café locations throughout Placer County including Auburn, Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville. The Senior Cafés are lively gathering places that help maintain clients' sense of community and connectedness.

Meals are provided for a small optional contribution. No one is ever turned away for lack of financial resources.

Seniors First's Telephone Reassurance Program provides homebound seniors with “social calls” by screened and trained volunteers.

The purpose of this free program is to alleviate the loneliness and isolation older adults often experience when living alone, or when residing in a rural area with limited access to transportation or social activities.

Call Reassurance provide weekly in-home social calls and also serve as a resource on community services and programs that can help the client retain their independence and remain in their home as long as they choose.

Seniors must be 60 and over, homebound (no longer driving), and able to interact socially.

Volunteer and senior matches are based on shared interests, geography, volunteer availability and personality as much as possible.

The The Salvation Army Corps in Auburn provides spiritual care and social services for Placer County residents, including emergency assistance and community programming.

Amor Senior Care (ASC) delivers non-medical, in-home support services for older adults.

Medi-Cal assistance is available through Human Services, one of six Divisions of County of Placer Health & Human Services.

Medi-Cal offers medical, dental, vision and mental health care to eligible individuals and families at little or no cost. If you are ineligible to Medi-Cal, affordable insurance plans are available through the health benefits exchange, Covered California, during their November through December open enrollment.
