The Social Security Administration's Ticket to Work Program supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries age 18 through 64 who want to work. The Ticket Program is free and voluntary. The Ticket Program helps people with disabilities progress toward financial independence. Individuals who receive Social Security benefits because of a disability and are age 18 through 64 probably already qualify for the program.

Medicare provides a health insurance plan for people who are 65 or older. People who are disabled or have permanent kidney failure may enroll at any age. Medicare has several parts: hospital insurance, medical insurance, and a prescription drug benefit. Hospital insurance, sometimes called Part A, covers inpatient hospital care and certain follow-up care. Medical insurance, sometimes called Part B, pays for physician services and some other services not covered by hospital insurance. Prescription drug benefit, Part D, is available as well.

During COVID-19: Services are available by phone (866-931-6087) or online at www.ssa.gov/onlineservices. SSA office is only providing limited, dire need, in-person services by appointment only. Call the SSA office to see whether your service needs can be met over the phone or if you'll need assistance in person.

Over the phone services can include applications for Disability, Retirement, and SSI. Prepare to provide your Social Security number as that may be needed.
