Connecting Point offers Disaster Case Management for people impacted by the 2021 River Fire. Call 211 or 833-342-5211 to receive a referral to a Disaster Case Manager who will contact you within one business day to offer assistance during your recovery process.

Disaster Case Managers will work one-on-one with individuals and families that have been impacted by the River Fire. Meeting regularly and as needed, the case managers will be able to work with you step-by-step throughout the recovery process, provide you with resources for any need that comes up, navigate the County, State, Federal rebuild processes that you will encounter, advocate for additional resources as needed, provide a physical place where you can print, fax, email, and copy documents, and keep you up to date with any updates as they are released.

Code RED offers notifications to county residents in case of emergencies or other critical community situations requiring alerts. Alerts may be received by means of text, email, landline, cell phone, and TTY. CodeRED is a product of the company called OnSolve. All Nevada County residents are encouraged to sign up.

NAVIGATOR-WINTER STORMS 2023 RECOVERY - CP

October 2023 - Connecting Point’s Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP) can work with eligible Nevada County Residents who were impacted by the 2023 Winter Storms. The funding is from FEMA disaster declaration DR-4699-CA - California Severe Winter Storms, Straight-line Winds, Flooding, Landslides, and Mudslides - FEMA incident period February 21, 2023 - July 10, 2023.

If your primary residence was severely damaged or destroyed by the 2023 Winter Storms, you may be eligible to receive case management. Renters can also be referred if there was damage to their personal property. Having applied for FEMA already is NOT a requirement for case management services.

Please call 211 or 833-342-5211 to be referred to a Disaster Case Manager. All navigator services are free.

In the event of disasters and emergencies, the Animal Control department of the Nevada County Sheriff's Office oversees animal evacuation.

Animal Evacuation information is event specific. Details will come from the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services. Though animal evac may be at the Nevada County fairgrounds, it may somewhere else if, for example, there is an event underway at the fairgrounds.
