Turning Point Community Programs provide a variety of mental health services for people with psychiatric disabilities to help them achieve recovery, independence, and self-sufficiency. People can self-refer for some programs and some programs require a referral from another agency.
Referrals for most
Nevada County programs must be made by Nevada County Behavioral Health. Call 530-265-1437.
- Insight Respite Center (IRC) is a four-bedroom home in rural Nevada County that is peer operated. The team fosters a stigma-free supportive and healing environment for adults (18+) with mental health symptoms who are experiencing a difficult time in their community. The team provides respite services to prevent a crisis from occurring or requiring hospitalization. During an individual’s stay they will receive peer support which fosters growth through self-empowerment and self-esteem building.
- Providence Center Adult Assertive Community Treatment (AACT) program provides intensive outpatient-based services to adults (18+) living with severe and persistent mental illness. Services and supports are person centered, individualized, and strength based. Services allow individuals to remain living independently in the community.
- Providence Center Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) provides intensive, community-based services specialized in integrative care. This program is designed for individuals who would not otherwise seek mental health treatment on their own and are at risk of requiring high level of care.

NOTE: 211 gets inquiries about the apartments behind Safeway. Brunswick Commons is the apartment complex on Old Tunnel Rd behind the Safeway, etc in Grass Valley. Members of the general public cannot apply for units because the complex is entirely devoted to people who are clients of Hospitality House, Turning Point, or Nevada County Behavioral Health.
People who may be eligible need to be on the By Name List, so if people are not in HMIS, they can call 2-1-1 to do an intake if they are eligible.
