The Coordinated Entry system provides a telephone hotline that serves as a centralized gateway for people who are homeless and in need of services in Nevada and Placer counties.

People who are homeless may call 1-833-3PLACER (1-833-375-2237) in Placer County, and 2-1-1 in Nevada County (or 877-847-0499 from outside Nevada County). Callers will be asked questions to determine their eligibility for various housing programs. Their needs are shared with participating Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras' homeless service providers.

The Homeless Resource Helplines help homeless service agencies throughout Placer and Nevada Counties better coordinate services and prioritize needs. Homeless individuals have their needs assessed in a consistent manner, and the confidential data is placed into a centralized database, the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). The helpline is also available in Spanish.

The Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras launched the Coordinated Entry system in January 2018.
