The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a program of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designed to assist very low income families, the elderly and the disabled and help them afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the privately-owned rental market. Income qualifications must be met in order to be considered for the Housing Choice Voucher program, in which one’s income may be no greater than 50% of the Area Median Income.
