California Tahoe Conservancy provides a fuelwood program for residents in and around the Lake Tahoe Basin. Firewood is available, up to two cords, free of charge to anyone who needs it. Wood is precut but not split. Hauling is the responsibility of the resident who needs it. Must obtain a wood permit through the conservancy.
