Medicare provides a health insurance plan for people who are 65 or older. People who are disabled or have permanent kidney failure may enroll at any age. Medicare has several parts: hospital insurance, medical insurance, and a prescription drug benefit. Hospital insurance, sometimes called Part A, covers inpatient hospital care and certain follow-up care. Medical insurance, sometimes called Part B, pays for physician services and some other services not covered by hospital insurance. Prescription drug benefit, Part D, is available as well.

FREE COVID-19 AT HOME TEST KITS FOR MEDICARE RECIPIENTS with Part B, including those enrolled in a Medicare Advantage program. This program started April 4, 2022, and continues until the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) ends. People with Medicare Part B can get up to eight free over-the-counter tests each calendar month through the end of the COVID-19 PHE.
