Issues Grower's Market Certificates, Organic Registrations and restricted Material Permits for Pesticide use. Registers and inspects pest control operators.

Facilitates distribution of information and education to local landowners on the Regional Water Quality Board's new Ag Wastewater Discharge Program. Works with Environmental Health and Public Health on the West Nile Task Force.

Offers and assists with applications for Agricultural Grading permit exemptions. Controls noxious weeds.

Wildlife Services is a cooperative program between the United States Department of Agriculture and Nevada County, and is responsible for the control of non-domestic animals such as skunks, opossums, raccoons, beavers, coyotes, mountain lions, bears, and damaging birds that pose a threat to human or animal health and safety, or cause damage to property, agriculture or livestock. The main goal of the program is to remove only the animals that are causing the problem.
