The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe offers dogs and cats for adoption, as well as:

• A Pet Pantry program for dogs and cats needing additional food resources due to limited income. Donations accepted and food can be picked up at the shelter located at 10961 Stevens Lane in Truckee.
• Low-cost and free spay/neutering programs to qualified limited-income, full-time residents of Truckee, Sierra County, Eastern Placer County or Eastern Nevada County cats and dogs with participating local veterinarians. Visit website or call for more information.
• A Pet Assisted Therapy program where volunteers and their companion animals visit Tahoe Forest Hospital, local schools and Tahoe Safe Alliance. Call (530) 582-2472 to get more information on volunteering.
